Gregory A. "Chef" Furco, Sr., 79, of Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Monday. Born in Syracuse to the late Gregorio and Rosa Furco. He served as Chef in the U.S. Air Force in the 42nd Food Service Squadron. After leaving the Air Force, he continued to serve the Lord; as well as, people through his culinary art.
Gregory was predeceased by his son, Gary A. Furco and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by seven children, Gregory Furco II, Laurie (Christopher) Bonner, Lawrance (Melissa) Furco, Christopher (Tammy) Furco, Tammy (Richard) Barker, Michael (Gayle) Furco and Randy (Michelle) Furco; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and brother, Sammy (Kathy) Furco.
Calling hours will be Sunday, May 27th 11am-2pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse with a reading and military service to follow at 2pm.
Reception to follow 2:30-6pm at Trapper's II, Minoa.
In lieu of flowers, do a good deed, be kind to others, fill out an organ donation card, donate blood, make time to visit someone. In lieu of flowers, do something good to honor Gregory Furco, Sr.; however you choose to brighten the day of someone; point to the Heavens and say, this is for you, Greg.
