Gordon Wright

Gordon (Bud) Wright, 93, of North Syracuse, who was known and loved by many in the North Syracuse area, passed away on Thursday February 18, 2021 after a long and productive life.
Many knew him as the owner of the North Syracuse Plaza or from the many gas stations he built in the region or kitchens and homes he remodeled over the years. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he came home to join the apprentice carpenter program, and built his own house on Willow Rd. Bud spent his entire life living and working in North Syracuse. At 93 he was one of the village's oldest residents.

Bud was hard-working and inventive. His last and most unique creation was his five foot "bowling ball man" made from bowling balls discarded by the local bowling alley where he was a regular. Many others may best remember him by the peacock feathers he gave them when his pet peacocks shed. He was a thoroughly honest man.

Bud was the husband of the late Jean Radley, father to the late John R. Wright, and grandfather to the late Kate Bilbo. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Wright Bilbo and Marsha Wright Clark, grandchildren Kevin Wright (Mara), Casey Wright (Marlena), Brian Wright (Stacia), Caroline Bilbo, Thomas Bilbo (Rachel), Radley Silla, and Laura Silla. His great grandchildren include Campbell Wright, Jack Wright, Charleigh Wright, Micha Wright, and Ellie Wright. He spent many of his later years with the late Nancy Formoso and her sons Adam and Rev. Travis Formoso, who will be presiding over the service.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services at 11am. Burial will take place at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay.
