"Backward, Turn Backward, O Time in Thy Flight" Gloria Ann Savastino, 89, nee Snyder has passed from this life, into the next. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore and son in law, Patrick O'Shea.

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia (Daniel) Covell and Christine O'Shea; grandson, Jesse (Nicole) Covell; granddaughters, Caitlin, Tara and Gloria O'Shea; great granddaughter, Judah Marley Covell.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Keepsake Village at Greenpoint and the Palliative Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for their caring service during her final illness.

A lifelong Syracuse resident, having been raised in Eastwood, "Glorious Gloria" as she was known in high school, retired from the Accounts Payable at Dey Brother's. She served as a volunteer for the American Heart Assoc. and WCNY Public TV. She loved life, her family, her red 1974 Firebird, the Adirondacks, Irish Rebel songs and a good Gin Martini. We mourn her death and celebrate her life. She was, truly, one of a kind. Here's lookin' at you, kid.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will follow at 7PM.
