Glenna K. Lindley, 92, passed away on October 27, 2016.
Glenna is survived by her children, LaNita (Buzz) McKeever, Michele (Mike) Miller, Jacqueline (John DeLapp) Meadows, Robert (Beverly) Lindley, Shauna (Tim) King, Steven (Tracy Helms) Lindley and Kevin (Susan) Lindley; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several foster children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lindley, of 71 years and children, Barbara Hoyt and Jeffrey Lindley.
Glenna was born and raised in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was an accomplished musician, earning many prestigious awards. In 1944, during WWII, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy. She proudly served in the naval hospital at Parris Island, SC. She also enjoyed playing her clarinet in the Navy Band.
Glenna retired from St. Joseph's Hospital after 21 years as a psychiatric counselor. She was also instrumental in developing the suicide hotline at the hospital and spent many hours educating students at various schools.
Glenna and her husband spent their retirement years traveling in their 5th wheel camper, enjoying many adventures and making many new friends.
Glenna was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be missed very much.
Calling hours will be Friday 11AM-12PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 12PM. Burial will follow in the Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
