Giovanni “John” Testa, Jr., 86 of Cicero passed away peacefully on February 16 2025. John was born on March 8, 1938 to Giovanni and Angelina (DiPrimio) Testa.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Ann, and his sister Lucia Bennett (Testa).
He is survived by his son John Testa III of New York, and his grandchildren: Jay (Kelly) Testa, Britni Testa, and Marissa (Eric) Dipietrantonio, Jr., all from Massachusetts, along with Kyle Testa from California. He also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Jax, Harlow, Gianna, and the soon-to-arrive baby G. Additionally, he is remembered by his sisters-in-law, Therese, Connie & Madeline, and brothers-in-law, Dominick and the late Michael, all of New York.
John grew up in Syracuse and resided in Cicero for nearly 45 years. In his final year, he moved to Massachusetts to be closer to his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered as the generous and kind grandfather, often seen mowing the lawn in pressed pants and dress shoes. We’ll save a seat for you at the head of the table- you will be deeply missed.
A funeral mass will take place on March 4th at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church in Cicero. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Steve Mauro for his unwavering support and care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be to the Central New York SPCA in honor of his love for animals.
