Ginger (Virginia) Boatman passed away peacefully on Monday March 21st at the age of 62. Originally from Irondequoit, NY, she was predeceased by her parents Ada "Ray" and Lewis E. Neary.
Ginger is survived by her husband Paul L. Boatman, son Alex, daughter Leigh Ann (Ryan) Benz, grandson Oliver and siblings Nancy (Richard) Long, Kathleen (Charles) DeSantis, James (Susan) Neary, Barbara Neary-Habza, Thomas (Patricia) Neary, Sally (Thomas) Bull and many nieces and nephews.
Ginger was a lifelong educator, teacher and mentor to so many. She will be greatly missed by her closest colleagues from Phoenix High School as well as many neighbors and friends, especially her Rochester "Prinecesses." Ginger and Paul had a beautiful marriage for 38 years and spent their lifetime together as best friends. In recent years, they spent summers at their camps on Oneida Lake, enjoying family, peaceful moments and gorgeous sunsets. Ginger lived a beautiful life through her motto, "keep it simple."
Friends are welcomed to pay their respects at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse on Monday March 28th from 4-7pm. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday March 29th 9:30 am at Epiphany Parish at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St., Liverpool.
Ginger was a warrior in her battle with Ovarian Cancer and graciously donated her body to Upstate Medical University for Medical Advancements & Education.
