Gertrude (Trudy) Stephens, 80, went home to the Lord peacefully on Sunday. She was born on June 1, 1933 in Kingston, NY daughter of Blandford and Gertrude Raichle. A 1958 graduate of Hartwick College, she pursued a career in banking where she met her future husband F. Gary Stephens. They were married on October 12, 1963. She was a faithful wife and loving mother. She was a devoted member of Living Word Church since 1976. She voluntarily established and ran the church bookstore for over 30 years.
Survived by her husband Gary, her sons Eric (Vickie), Carl (Debbie), her daughter, Amy (Dan), 7 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Henry Raichle of Athens, GA and Carl Raichle of Land O'Lakes, FL.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at Living Word Church, 6101 Court Street Rd., Syracuse. Services will be held on Wed. 10am at the church.
