Gertrude L. Miles, 90, a 50 year resident of Jamesville, New York died Monday, February 13, 2012. She was a native of LaFayette, New York, the daughter of the late, Leon and Laura Walburger Smith. A homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her family and camping. Gertrude was an Onondaga County Foster Mother for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Miles in 1992, a daughter, Patricia Gaston in 2006 and a brother, Burton Smith in 2009, son-in-law, Joseph C. Leclau, brother-in-law, Ralph A. Newcomband sister-in-law, Louise L. Smith.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Leclau of Syracuse, New York; a son, Edward (Marie) Miles of Delmar, New York; sisters, Dorothy (Rodney) Dando of Rochester, New York and Beverly (George) Druce of Liverpool, New York; grandchildren, Thomas (Sue) Miles, James (Christine) Miles, Robert Miles, William Miles, Christopher (Kelly) Miles, Paul (Margaret) Miles, Catherine (Michael) Lee, Daniel Miles, David (Angelina Oswald) Miles, Melanie (Ed Smith) Martin and Scott (Terumi Kanno) Leclau; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday. February 25, 2012 from 1-3 PM with services to follow immediately at 3 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York. Graveside service will be 9:00 AM on Monday, February 27, 2012 at White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt, New York.
