Gerald A. Voorhies

Gerald (Jerry) A. Voorhies, 87, of Lakeshore Road, passed away on August 27, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Jerry was born in Syracuse on July 30, 1937, to the late Albert and Dorothy (Goettel) Voorhies. 

On August 16, 1958, Jerry married the former Christine Kiehl, who survives and resides in their original home in Cicero. 

Jerry provided for his family through long-term employment in supervisory capacities at Eastwood Litho and then Weco Graphics. He also owned and operated Lakeshore Press. Jerry enjoyed his volunteer time with the Lions Club as treasurer. His favorite hobby was talking on his ham radio where his call letters were KA2DDN. 

In addition to his wife, Chris, Jerry is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Randy) Wellington of Arkport, and Wendy (Dereck) Bigford of Cicero. He loved his grandchildren, Jenna (Wesley) Churchman, Dean Wellington, Sarah (Damjan) Vujovic, Max Bigford, and Josh Bigford; his great-grandchildren, Lyla, Josie, and Randall Churchman. 

Calling hours will be Sunday, September 01, from 12pm-2pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals with a service at 1:30.  A private burial will take place at a later date.
