Gerald L. "Jerry" Rausa , 82, passed away Thursday at his home.
Gerald was the son of the late James and Fannie Rausa. Gerald served in the US Army in Korea and was awarded the good conduct medal. He worked for Metropolitan Life as a manager and then, with partners Ro and Deb, founded Onondaga Employee Leasing Services; a business which is still going strong after 30 years. He was a member of Lakeshore Country Club for over 20 years and One Parent Family Council for many years where he was also President.
Jerry was a loving father, adoring grandfather, dear friend and beloved
companion, who would ALWAYS make people laugh. His passing leaves an overwhelming void in his family's lives. He will be missed more than words could express.
Gerald is survived by his daughters, Danielle R. Rausa (Andrew Frazo),
Alicia M. (Scott) Schultz, his loving companion of 26 years, Linda Dardaris,
and grandchildren; Ashleigh, Seaver, Liam Paul, Kasten, Brayden, Markie, Joey. Also his sister, Marie (Dick) Pollock, brother, Frank (Amy) Rausa,
brother, Jimmy Rausa, step-daughter, Jami (Mark) Dardaris, and daughter, Melanie.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
Catholic services will be held on Tuesday 10 AM at the funeral home. A Military Honors Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery.
