Gerald A. Davern, 75, of North Syracuse, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Covenant Church. He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Berlin Crisis, 1961-1963. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his family and his country.

Gerald is predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Doris Davern; brothers, Keith and Ronald Davern.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna (DeRienzo) Davern; loving daughter, Tami Davern; a sister, Patricia (Davern) Tinsch; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Max.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 1-3PM at New Comer Funeral Home. Services will follow at 3PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and family to bring shaving cream, razors, combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste or deodorant to support the local vets at the Syracuse VA. Monetary donations may be made to Clear Path for Veterans "Dogs2Vets" program.
