Georgia M. Benz

Georgia M. Benz, 81, of Syracuse, passed away October 16, 2024. 

Georgia retired from Syracuse City School District after many years of working as a lunch server. Georgia was a proud and active member of the “Home Bureau Women’s Club”. 

She was a die-hard NY Yankee fan and enjoyed spending free time at her camp in Stony Knolls. Her hobbies included playing card games and bingo. She was an avid collector and reader of cook books. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Benz who she married on June 14, 1963. She is also predeceased by her sons, Mark and Robert Benz.

 She is survived by her sons, Michael (Carleen) Benz and Ronald Benz; Three grandchildren, Jordan (Elisabeth) Benz, Michael Benz and Jase Stoughtenger; sister, Nancy Fowler. 

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 10am with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
