George S. Kanasola

November 3, 1941 — February 1, 2024

George S. Kanasola, 82, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, holding his wife's hand. George was born in Syracuse, New York on November 3, 1941. George proudly served in the United States Army and Marine Corps. He married his love, Mary on October 10, 1970, whom he met while working at WT Grants. He later went on to work with General Crushed Stone, Syracuse, where he was a proud member of the Teamsters. He was a lifelong member of the VFW, North Syracuse where he served as Commander and was active in the American Legion for many years. He was a former volunteer firefighter for the Mattydale Fire Department. George loved bowling and golfing. He was always giving back to his community in any way that he could, especially through his favorite charity, Toys for Tots.

George was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Kanasola and son, George Kanasola, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Kanasola; daughter, Kellyann Dinoff; and two grandchildren, Alysse Dinoff and Ryan Dinoff.

Visitation will be held Saturday February 10, 2024 from 10-11AM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. Burial with military honors will be made in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georges' memory to Disabled American Veterans.
