George J. Rizzo, 60, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. George was from Camillus, NY; born to the late Joseph and Beverly Rizzo, Sr.. He worked at Syracuse University, Blue Cross Blue Shield and later at AXA. He was a member of Syracuse Elks BPOE #31. George was an avid Syracuse Sports and NY Giants fan. He loved watching sports with his best friend and brother, Jeff. George was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
George is survived by two children, Christopher Rizzo and Jennifer (Germano) Rizzo; three grandchildren, Gino, Nathan and Maria; five siblings, Joseph (Linda) Rizzo Jr., Jeffrey (Bonnie) Rizzo, Paul (Susan) Rizzo, John (Billie Jo) Rizzo and Beverly Rizzo, Jr.; loving aunt, Rosemary Rizzo and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Dec. 27th 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. A funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 28th 11AM at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
