George J. Brown, 77, of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday. At age nine he worked on the family farm. He later worked for several factories including New Process Gear where he was a precision grinder. George then started George Brown's Painting and Remodeling, which he owned and operated for over 50 years and was always dedicated to the service he provided.

George is predeceased by his wife, Germain Brown in 2005, a son, John Brown, in 1957 and a granddaughter, Debra E. Brown in 2011.

He is survived by four sons, George Jr. (Renee) of North Syracuse, Charles of North Syracuse, Michael (Cathy) of Cicero, David of North Syracuse; daughter, Shelley (Steve) of North Syracuse; three sisters, Mary, Jane and Helen; three brothers, Clarence, Mike and Paul; six grand children and five great grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, 10AM at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
