George O. Holcomb, 90, passed away Tuesday. George was born on August 6, 1927 in Syracuse. George served during WW II in the US Air Force. In his early years George coached and was an umpire for Little League. He was a member of St. Matthews Church and was on the zoning board for the Village of East Syracuse.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marlene, his son, Scott and his parents.
George is survived by his children, David A. Holcomb, Kim Battista, grandson, Peter Battista, step grandchildren, Dawn Smith, Michele & AJ Lipchak. Along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday 9am at St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse.
Burial will be at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
