George I. Hardter

October 18, 1941 — January 24, 2019

George I Hardter, Jr., 77, of Syracuse passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 24, 2019.

George was born and raised in Syracuse. As a young man, George worked at the former Midstate on Burnet Avenue. Then as a security guard and ended his career as a maintenance worker for Franklin Park Apartments.

George is survived by his sisters, Nancy Hardter and Donna (Robert) McClain and one brother, Ronald (Nancy) Hardter as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Eunice (Wilcox) in 2011, his father, George I Hardter Sr (1992) and his mother, Harriet Hardter (1983). Also predeceasing him were two sisters, Harriet Payne (2012), Dorothy Leonelli (2002) and one brother, Robert (1947).

George enjoyed spending his time helping his neighbors on Vann St, Syracuse with any task including lawn mowing and snow shoveling. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11-12noon at Newcomer Cremation & Funerals, N. Syracuse, with services to follow. Burial to take place at Loomis Hill Cemetery, Syracuse.
