George Edward Wilkins Jr., 72, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he owned and operated the Plank Road Antique Store and a former volunteer with the Cicero Vol. Fire Department.
George is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Ruth E. Oleksak; two sons, George E. III (Charle), Thomas M. (Cindy); three daughters, Lorrie A. (David) Smith, Mary S. (Joseph) Bateman, Elaine M. (Patrick) Wright; seven grandsons, Dave, Greg, Todd, Jonathan, Rory, Adam and Andrew.
Services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Clay. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. New Comer Family Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
