Gayle Locke

Gayle Elaine (Kerr) Locke, born on August 19, 1945 in Barneveld, New York, passed away peacefully at home on December, 28, 2024, in Pennellville, New York. Gayle was the beloved daughter of William and Dorothy Kerr and grew up alongside her brothers, Robert and William Kerr. On May 22, 1965, she married Roger Locke, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned nearly six decades. Together, they built a loving family that brought her immense joy and pride.

She is survived by her three children: Michele Bousquet (Steven), Pamela Christensen (David Canfield), and Brian Locke (Erin Salati). Gayle was also a cherished grandmother to Bryant Vallat (Amanda), Amanda Vallat (Alex), Cassidy Calkins (Shane), Cole Christensen, and Luke Locke. Her extended family included her sister-in-law Judy LaGasse, nieces and nephews - Bob Kerr, David Terrazas, Tiffany Heintz, Buffie Haley - and several great-nephews and great-nieces who held a special place in her heart. In addition to her parents, Gayle is predeceased by her brothers Robert (Lillie), and William (Marilyn), her brother-in-law Clarence H. “Peter” Locke Jr (Joan), and her brother-in-law F. Gary LaGasse. 

Gayle had numerous cats that she loved throughout her 79 years, and while she enjoyed gardening, a clean house, and hosing down the driveway, Gayle's life was defined by her deep love for her family and the countless memories she created with them over the years, especially while on vacation at Sandbridge Beach, VA. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the unwavering support she offered to those she loved. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. 

A church service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 17 Oneida River Road, Pennellville, NY 13132 on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11AM, with a luncheon to follow (same location).
