Gary R. Ryan, 74, of Cicero passed away on Tuesday. He was born in Waterloo, NY son of the late Robert and Anne Ryan. Gary retired from Lawson & Marden as a machine operator after 12 years. He was an avid pool player, he enjoyed camping, traveling, vegetable gardening and most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Kelley Ryan in 2005 and 2 grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Jane of 50 years, mother-in-law, Leoda Arnold, brother-in-law, David Arnold, great aunt, Evangeline McDonald, his 3 children; Cheryl (Edward) Fry, Shawn (Adira) Ryan, Amy B. VanSteenburgh (Bill Phillips, Jr.), 9 grandchildren; Brandy & Meghan Fry, Sean & Zoe Ryan, Nicholas Pembleton, Haydn VanSteenburgh, Zachary, Paige & Cameron Phillips, 2 great grandchildren; Essence M. Fry & Kian Burton.
Public calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial services will be private.
