Gary Lilly, age 54, of Hastings, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 12, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 17th, 1953 in Mechanicsburg, PA to Harold and Charlotte (Phillips) Lilly. Gary was employed as a production supervisor at All-State Diversified in Lakeland, NY until the onset of his illness. He was predeceased by his father, Harold. Surviving him are his loving and dedicated wife, Lori (St. Clair) and their daughter, Ashley. Others include his mother, siblings: Gwen (Dale) Ouderkirk, Geri "Scott" (Kathy) Lilly, Gail VanSlyke (Jim), Glen (JoAnne) Lilly, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and finally, his "boys": Bear, Gizmo and Max. Gary was truly a selfless and generous man who was genuinely loved by his family and friends. His sense of humor, compassion for others and gentle spirit will be deeply missed, especially by his wife and daughter. At the request of Gary and his family, interment services will be private. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 20th, 2007 at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, NY beginning at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider making a donation to the Children's "Make A Wish" Foundation in Gary's name.
