Gary was born in Syracuse N.Y. on July 27, 1986 and was the first-born son of Gary and Regina Morris. Gary's smile was unmatched; there was a light that shone from him upon entering any room. His energy was joyous and lifted the spirit of any one around. He loved music and dancing. Gary Morris, Jr., 35, formerly of Syracuse, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
Gary graduated from CNS High School in 2004. There, he competed statewide as a star athlete, in both cross country and track and field. In addition to his athleticism, he played the trumpet in concert, marching, and jazz bands. Gary helped form UMOJA and led the Step Team. He was also a member of the Student Council and was the first African American Vice President of a graduating class. Gary went on to attend Rider University in New Jersey where he continued to excel academically and athletically. Gary became a member of the Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 2006 as a Founding Brother of the Orinoco Chapter. Gary graduated from Rider University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biopsychology. Finding his calling, Gary began his dream career as a Delta Flight Attendant. With more than 10 years of experience in the industry, he has touched so many passengers with his professionalism and kindness and has mentored his peers and colleagues to "Keep Climbing."
Gary was predeceased by his Grandparents Nathaniel B. & Helen Morris, Aunts, Maxine Morris, Shirley Morris, Valerie Morris and Shirley A. Morris, Uncles, Robert Morris, Sr., and Nathaniel Morris, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory by: his Parents Gary & Regina Morris, Siblings, Aleesha (Douglas) Czyz and Austin Morris, 3 Nephews, Gary, Avery and Emery, Grandmother, Theodora Owen, Aunts, Belinda (Michael) Eunice, Diane Dowdell, Annette Graham, Joanne Morris and Desma Morris, Uncles, Michael Morris, Sr., Richard Morris, Sr., Roland (Kim) Morris, Leon Morris, Sr., close cousin, Laron Bradley, Best Friend, Brandon (Marty) Richardson, along with several other beloved cousins and friends.
Gary achieved his purpose of Spreading Love and Joy around the world. He was loved greatly and will be missed even more. As Gary would say "And that's the tea!"
Viewing will be held on Friday, September 3rd from 10 -11am at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse, with a funeral service to follow. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery.
