Gary D. Cappa

Gary D. Cappa, 59, of East Syracuse passed away on Tuesday at home with his family by his side.

Gary was the son of the late Thomas and Julie Cappa.

Gary worked at the VA Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. Gary enjoyed sports, gardening and being outdoors. He enjoyed his fishing trips with his brother Tom in Alaska. Gary also liked to cook, can, and pickle his home grown vegetables. Most of all, his granddaughter Olivia was the light of his life.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Tammy of 16 years, daughter, Rebecca Mento-Ferguson (Samual), son, Joseph J. Mento, grandchild, Olivia Christine Mento-Ferguson, his best friend/dog Brutus, brother Thomas P. (Ntsoaki) Cappa, sisters; Judith (Robert) Cleary, Cindy (Terry) Cappa-Madore, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 31st from 10-12 noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Minoa, NY.
