Gail Beebe

November 18, 1963 — July 14, 2020

Gail Beebe, 56, of Oswego, passed away suddenly July 14, 2020, with her loving family by her side.
She was born to the late Corbin LaVoy and Karen Conway, November 18, 1963, in Syracuse, New York. She graduated from Port Byron High School in 1981 and later earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Alfred State College. On October 27, 1984, she married Melvin Beebe, and through the years the two affectionately became known as "Mel and Gail". One year later they welcomed their daughter, Melissa, and another two years later, their son, Justin. After 35 years of marriage, Mel and Gail remained adoringly devoted to one another, even more in love than the day they wed.

As an inspirational example of following one's heart, Gail later returned to college to earn a degree in Nursing from St. Joseph's College of Nursing in 2013. Fulfilling what she often referred to as a "lifelong dream", this brought her both great pride and great joy. Ever happy, her contagious smile and positivity brightened the day of her patients and colleagues. Gail welcomed strangers into her house that would leave as family. A mom to all, she was a mother not only to her own children, but to their friends and neighbors, and even went on to become a well-known Hannibal football mom. Simply put, she was the best kind of person; always kind, selfless, and optimistic, with endless love for others. Gail perfected the skill of being there for others - be it comforting or supporting, she was there for them. Her gifts were shared with many along the way, and her path eventually brought her back home to share with Oswego Hospital.

While there were few things in life that Gail did not enjoy, she had great love for lighthouses, horses, country music, travel, hiking, biking, baking, and of course, her pets. However, those who knew her best, knew her most cherished blessings were her grandchildren. "Gigi", as they endearingly called her, never thought twice about donning a princess gown to play dress-up or buying a PS4 to play video games with them. Without a doubt, she was loved and adored in equal measure. To them, no Gigi was better.

Gail was predeceased by her father, Corbin LaVoy (Janet LaVoy), her mother, Karen Conway, and her sister, Laurie LaVoy.

Left to remember and honor her love is her husband, Melvin Beebe, of Hannibal and their two children Melissa (Jay) Pennington of Oswego and Justin (Katie) Beebe of Granby; sister, Annette LaVoy of Hannibal and her nephews, Derrick, Micheal, and Nicholas LaVoy. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her treasured granddaughters, Keira, Rowinn, and Eden Pennington, and Kayleigh and Emelyn Beebe.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to a charity of your choice in Gail's memory.
