G. Annette Mech, 84, entered into eternal rest on April 3, 2021.
Born Gay Annette Jakeway on January 16, 1937, in Buckeye Lake, OH, to William M. and Grace Irene (Grasser) Jakeway raised in Corning, NY, graduating Northside High as a Majorette; making Syracuse, NY her home as wife and mother to her four beloved children.
She was preceded in death by husbands (33yrs) Richard Mech, (25yrs) Robert Ricks; daughter, Lisa (Rick) L'Huillier; brother, William Jakeway; sisters, Martha Frankenberry, Mary-Jo Baker. She is survived by her son, Robert (Colette) Ricks; daughters, Laurie (Garry) DeGonza, Dianna (Rick Reichenbach) Ricks; grandchildren, Tyler & Lily Ricks, Garry (Hannah) & Schuyler DeGonza, Jeremy & Justin (Jaime) Lent, Taylor L'Huillier; G. Grandchildren Nichole (Gavin), Nattalie, Noilyn, Jaelyn, Joshua; G.G. Grandson Leon; beloved sister, Ruth Pucci; and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was a kind friend and loved by many; maintaining lifelong friendships. She was a risk taker, opening Gay's Garmet & Craft Gallery and long running Annette's Cafe I & II. Her favorite pastimes included bowling, fishing, swimming, singing, dancing and forever twirling her fire baton!
She will be missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Annette's family Saturday, April 10th from 10-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, with a graveside service 12pm at North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or The ALS Association.
