Frederick R. Springer Sr.

Frederick R. Springer "Frederick the Great", 87, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at James Square, on Tuesday. He was a loving Husband, father and grandfather, who was loved by all. He tended a garden every year until age 84, that helped to feed his family. He served in the Army Air Force and the Navy. He was awarded the WWII Victory Ribbon. He was a life member of the American Legion. Fred retired from New Process Gear with over 30 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Yankees. He enjoyed bowling.
He is predeceased by his daughters, Amy Parker and Jeannie Angel Springer; twin brother, Francis Springer and brother, Richard Hutchings.
He is survived by his current wife, Louisa Shafer Springer; ex wife, Mary Springer; children, Frederick (Lugene) Springer Jr., Bonnie (Ron) Lyman, Gloria (Duane) Duger, Christina Wescott, Susan (Duane) Shenandoah, June Springer, James (Karen) Springer, William (Patricia) Springer; over 100 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will be Tuesday 11AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Onon. Co. Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
