Frederick G. October 3, 2015
Frederick George Morrissey, Sr., 79, of Three Rivers, Clay, passed away on Saturday at James Square Nursing Home. He was born August 25, 1936 in Syracuse to George and Beatrice Morrissey. Fred retired from Chrysler NPG and was a former long distance truck driver. He was an avid sports fan of all sports but his wardrobe was predominately Orange. Fred was a boxer when he was young and for as long as able, enjoyed playing softball, golf and bowling. He also loved a great card game and horse race. With his gift of blarney he could be very entertaining indeed. Fred had a sense of adventure and loved to travel. It wasn't easy but he was determined and succeeded this past summer to go horseback riding with his daughters in Texas. He always extended a gracious invitation to all who wanted to fish from his dock, swim in the river, take a boat cruise or just enjoy the sunset from the deck. Fred forged a lifelong bond and longevity bet with his 3 best friends, Bruce, Scott Monie Hurry and Billy Marshall. It is now official that Bruce won the bet and the money pot.
Fred and the love of his life, Donna, scripted a new fairy tale as they danced through life and are now two crazy kids reunited, dancing happily everafter.
Fred was predeceased by his wife and his parents.
His family wishes to thank his many friends for all their help within these past few years.
Frederick is survived by his children, Rodney (Tracy) Morrissey, Pamela (Frank) Ross, Debra (Dennis), Carlton, Lynn (Jeff) Phillips, Jean Woods, "Jackie G" Green, Frederick (Rose) Morrissey, Jr., Sharon Hanmer, William (Tina) Morrissey, Georgia Phillips, Florence (Fernando) Rios, sister, Jean (Jim) Sprague, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
