Freda "Fritz" Sobotka

Freda "Fritz" Sobotka, born on August 13, 1929 passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025.

She lived a life rich in love, service, and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that her family and friends will cherish.

Fritz's professional journey saw her excel as an administrative secretary for the Military. Her career also included significant roles in the billing departments of Tidewater Inland Express and Howard's Express Trucking Companies. Known for her remarkable organizational skills and dedication to her work, she contributed greatly to her workplace, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

A woman of many passions, Fritz was an avid reader and a committed volunteer in her community. Her active involvement in her church was a testament to her character, as she devoted countless hours to various events, sharing her talents and love with those she served. In addition, Fritz was a passionate advocate for animal rescue and animal protection, reflecting her deep compassion for all living beings.

Fritz shared a profound bond with her husband, John Sobotka, who predeceased her. Together, they traveled across the country, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Ali) Manouchehripour, daughter, Kimberly Charima, and son, Jack (Rina) Sobotka, along with her cherished granddaughters, Ashley and Parisa Manouchehripour.

Fritz is also preceded in death by her dear sisters, Helen and Jean, and her beloved dog Sam.

Her impact on her family and community will continue to resonate through the lives she touched. Fritz's legacy of kindness, advocacy, and love will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed.

A Mass to celebrate her life will be held on April 8, 2025, at Transfiguration Church in Syracuse, NY. The service will begin at 10am. After the mass family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Retreat Restaurant in Liverpool starting at 1pm. Burial at the Cemetery will be private.
