Frank Komar

Frank Komar, 97, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly at Michaud Residential on Tuesday.
Frank grew up on the Westside. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Rosary Church for 48 years and St. Rose of Lima Church for about 15 years. He retired from Crucible Steel with 45 years of service. He was a good father, neighbor and friend. You didn't have to ask twice for help. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary E. (Conway) Komar; sisters Mary Labulis and Helen Kozub; a brother, Stephen Komar.
He is survived by three sons, Frank (Kathy Lopez), Robert (Patricia) and Richard (Marie) Komar; a daughter, Anna M. (Komar) Thomas; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 3-6PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will be Monday 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will follow at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Michaud Residential, Fulton, NY.
