Frank F. Barney passed away unexpectedly on Monday at the age of 10.
A fifth grader at Percy Hughes, Frankie was a wonderful little boy beloved by family and friends. He cheerfully defied the expectations of doctors and teachers alike with his ability to not just survive life's challenges but to thrive and grow. He delighted in learning new skills -- everything from new vocabulary to horseback riding. He was never defined by his disability, but rather by his sweet mischievous smile and that wicked little boy laugh that no one could resist. Everyone Frankie knew is better for having known him and he leaves a part of himself in each person he met.
Much loved and sorely missed, he is survived by his parents Jeremy and Angela Barney; a sister, Ariel; a brother, Hunter. Grandparents Jim and Karen Barney, Becky and Michael Alderson, Jack Henderson, Claire and Shane Straight. Great Grandparents Linda Clarke, Donna Tripp, Carole and Jack Henderson, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Sat. from 1-3pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Frankie to Arise at The Farm.
