Francis G Sweeney

Francis G Sweeney, 96, of Manlius, passed away April 30, 2020 at home from heart disease.
Francis was born in Rochester, New York on November 28, 1923 to the late Daniel and Mary Sweeney. Francis served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He graduated from RIT. In his free time he enjoyed painting, sculpting, golfing, skiing, and most importantly spending time with his friends and family. He had a long career as owner, artist and illustrator of FG Sweeney Art Studios. He also taught many wonderful students in his art classes for over 20 years and as an adjunct professor at Syracuse University and at locations throughout Central New York in his later years.
Francis was preceded in death by his wife Loraine "Muscles" Sweeney; two sons, Thomas Sweeney, and William Sweeney.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Robert) Bauer; son, Daniel (Donna Johnson) Sweeney; daughter-in-law, Romelle Sweeney; grandchildren, Allison, Sean, Matthew, Lauren, and Madelyn; and a great granddaughter, Dylan; companion, Judith Wells.
Services will be private.
