Ron Saleski, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away at home on October 9, 2015.
He was born on September 17, 1933, in Syracuse, New York to Stephen and Julia Saleski.
On June 25, 1960 he married Mary Ellen O'Toole and they lived in North Syracuse, New York.
Ron was a Marine Engineer for the NYS Barge Canal and retired after 35 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a Communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church.
In his early years, he enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and hockey and was a life-long New York Rangers fan. He always enjoyed lunch with family and friends at the Clam Bar. He loved spending time with his family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen; parents, Julia and Stephen Saleski; brother, Richard Saleski.
Ron is survived by his son, Stephen W. (Deborah) Saleski; daughters, Mary (Paul) Jones-Hills, Julie (Mark) Simpson; grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Jones, Grace, Conner and Maggie Simpson and Andrew, Jacob and John Saleski.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 4:00 pm. to 7:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11 am at St. Rose of Lima, in North Syracuse. Burial will follow at The North Syracuse Cemetery.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Ron's name to a charity of your choice.
Ron's family would like to extend a warm thank you to the entire staff at Iroquois Nursing Home, who lovingly cared for him throughout his recent stay.
