Floyd W. Brantis

April 5, 1941 — December 28, 2020

The Angels came and took Floyd (Bill) W. Brantis away on Tuesday, December 28, 2020 at home with his loving family by his side. He fought the good fight and fooled many people along with doctors for an 18 year battle with cancer.

He was born on April 5, 1941 and attended Canastota High School. He married the love of his life (Patricia A. Brantis, predeceased on May 15, 2020) on August 18, 1962.

Bill was employed and retired from Camden Wire Mill, and a few years later became a bus driver at Turning Stone Casino which he enjoyed and had a passion for this job and all the patrons he met. In the midst, he had a craft business with his wife (Wooden Treasures & Gifts). He loved working with wood the same as his father did.

He enjoyed his craft business and flower shopping with his wife and daughter, and loved seeing the beautiful results those trips would bring. He had a special liking of marigolds, tulips, & gladiolus because those were Pop's (his Dad) favorite.

He is survived by his daughters, Robin L. (Roger) Cook, Roxanne L. Brantis & Tricia A. Brantis; grandchildren, Justin M. Brantis, Kristie Zahas, Courtney (Andrew) Plante and Travis (Stacy) Brantis; 2 great-grandchildren, Mercedes Brantis and Cole Plante, 1 sister, Sandra (Larry) Wilkinson; 4 sisters-in-law, Gussie (Peter) Sorenson, Priscilla Buyea, Phyllis (Bruce) Noble, Flo Whitmeyer; one brother-in-law, Andrew (Sherry) Jones; special friends, Robert (Uncle Bobby) Popple, and Jack and Ester Britton; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia A. Brantis; his daughter, Kimberly L. Brantis; parents, Floyd and Marguerite (Preston) Brantis; two brothers-in-law, Stuart (Joyce) Jones and Steve (Beverly) Jones.

The family would like to thank Hospice, Hematology-Oncology Associates, (Dr. Himpler, Nicole & Hannah) Crouse Hospital.

Private services will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse, NY.

If you would like to make a donation in his memory, they can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413
