Florence Streeter, 98, passed away peacefully at James Square Nursing Home in Syracuse, June 10. Born May 21, 1909, in Watertown, NY, she resided in the Syracuse area most of her adult life, most recently at Greenpoint Senior Living Center, Liverpool, NY, before moving to James Square this past January. She was previously a member of Brown Memorial Methodist Church and later attended Dewitt Community Church. She spent many summers at her cottage near Sackets Harbor, NY.
Florence was predeceased by her husband Lyle, in 1981, and two sons, Lee, of
Phoenix, NY and Lynn, of Pompano Beach, FL.
She is survived by one son, Terry, of Cicero, NY; two grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters Naomi Chrisler of Syracuse and Emma Traynor of Watertown, NY.
The family wishes to extend thanks and appreciation to the staff at Greenpoint and James Square for their especially thoughtful care.
Calling hours will be 4 – 7 pm on Thursday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 705 North Main St. (Rt.11), North Syracuse, with chapel service there at 7 pm.
Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery, 811 Bradley St., Watertown, NY, 13601, with graveside service on Friday at 2 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brown Memorial United Methodist Church, 228 Davis St., Syracuse, NY, 13204, or DeWitt Community Church, 3600 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt, NY 13214.
