It is with great sadness we let you know that beloved husband and teacher, Felix Ivanoff, passed away peacefully Saturday evening.
Felix was born January 28th, 1950 in Moscow where he studied and taught music, drama, and movement to actors. Felix came to the United States as part of a cultural exchange in 1991 and stayed for the rest of his life. Felix taught acting, movement, stage combat and clowning at Juilliard, North Carolina School of the Arts, and many other drama schools including Syracuse University where he has been a much beloved professor for the last 14 years.
In addition to inspiring many students with his love of theater and music, Felix was also an accomplished martial artist and teacher of kung fu who won many competitions and also held a 3rd degree black belt in Judo.
Felix is survived by his wife, Olga and many friends around the world.
Felix's passion for theater, music and life lives on in the hearts and memories of the friends and students touched by his loving enthusiasm.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 19th at 9 am at St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, 607 Tecumseh Road with a burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
