Faye Hughes, born on Tuesday February 25, 1958, sadly passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 due to complications with diabetes.
Stubborn, southern, and sassy, Faye left footprints on the souls of all who knew her. In her bio, she wrote she was a Mississippi native who traded moon pies, Ole Miss football games and the smell of magnolia blossoms in the springtime for the pristine beauty of upstate New York's picture-postcard-perfect four seasons. She also claimed she only regretted the decision in the winter when pranksters stole her snow shovel and the snowbanks crept up to her second-floor bedroom window. Faye, who in all reality hated snow, wore her sense of humor on her sleeve and had a way of turning lemons into martinis or meringue pie.
Author of seven award-winning novels of romantic fiction and two non-fiction books, Faye wrote her first novel when she was nine. She was published by Bantam, Kensington and Adams Media, and two of her romance novels were optioned for TV movies. Her creative and comedic outlook on life extended to her love of public speaking. When Faye Hughes spoke, people listened, learned, and laughed.
For over ten years Faye worked for Mohawk Regional Information Center as a Microcomputer Specialist.
She is survived by her friend Christie Craig, niece Alicia (Joshua) Albrecht, and great nieces Jayden, Laura and Kyle-Leigh and friend Pam Culbertson. Along with her cats, Ernie & Dora.
In lieu of flowers or donations we request you find the time to be kind to yourself.
Live this life with laughter, love, and kindness for those around you.
