F. Gary Stephens

F. Gary Stephens, 85, of Syracuse, NY went home peacefully to the Lord on December 10, 2021. Gary was born on Dec 7, 1936 in Salt Lake City, UT to Frederick and Katherine Stephens.

He graduated from University of Washington, St. Louis then worked for Alpha Kappa Psi and served in the Air Force / Air National Guard between 1959 - 1965. He settled in Syracuse, NY where he pursued a career in banking. He met his future wife, Gertrude (Trudy) whom he married on October 12, 1963. He later held positions at Carrier Corporation, GE, and New England Financial.

Gary's life changed in 1975 when he committed his life to Jesus Christ. He faithfully served the Lord at Living Word Church, where he very rarely missed a meeting. He enjoyed playing scrabble with his wife, road trips with friends and family, relaxing to classical music, and taking walks with his daughter.

Gary was a devoted husband to his late wife, Gertrude (Trudy) and is survived by his sons Eric (Vickie), Carl (Debbie) and daughter Amy (Daniel) Rancier; 7 grandchildren; one brother, Phillip of Kirkland, Washington.

Calling hours are on Dec 14, 2021 at 10am followed by a memorial service at 12pm at Living Word Church, 6101 Court St. Rd, Syracuse, NY. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations can be made to Living Word Church.
