Evelyn B. Simonds, 73, of Liverpool, passed away Sunday. She was a self employed hairdresser (Ye Olde Beauty Shoppe, Central Square) in the 1970's and worked for the Reuben Donnelly Assoc. Evelyn started the Arthritis Action Committee in 1977 and served on it's board for several years. She was a past member of Arise and the United Way Speaker's Bureau in the 1980's.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Carlton) Burian; 2 sons, Thomas J (Valerie Stanton) Maring and Andrew D. Maring; 4 grandchildren, Traci A. Sydney, Jared K. Dinsmore, Naomi Maring and Gregory Maring; 4 great grandchildren, Eric and Alex Sydney and Skylar and Ethan Dinsmore; and 3 siblings.
Services will be Tuesday, 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Calling Hours will be from 5-7 PM, before services.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Arthritis Foundation.
