On September 19, 2018 Evelyn Roecker of North Syracuse passed away unexpectedly after a long and full life at the age of 89.
Lynn was born on August 22nd, 1929 in Norwood NY to Edward and Mildred Reagan.
She was loved and admired by many. Lynn was a very active person in her lifetime. She was a pilot and flew Cessna planes in the 1940s. Lynn worked as a secretary at Clarkson University where she met her husband Don and was married in 1951. She was always proud of being the president of the Frank Sinatra Club and met him backstage on several occasions in New York City. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima church and was a member of the Columbiettes. She was also a member of the GE wives club. Lynn was primarily a home maker, but with the sudden death of her husband in 1976 she became the owner and operator of Lyndon Lawn Mobile Home Park in Central Square until 1994. She was always drawn to water. Lynn sailed on weekends on her boat Wind Song II and was a member of the Oneida Lake Sailing Club. She raced and won many races on Wind Song. She wintered in Florida on the inter-coastal and could be seen driving her Z-28 Camaro to her summer home on Lake Ontario. Lynn was a diehard SU fan and loved sports in general. She was big lover of cats and was accompanied by many furry friends throughout her lifetime. She will be missed by all, particularly by her faithful cat companion "Nike".
Lynn was predeceased by her husband Donald Roecker in 1976. She is survived by her two daughters, Sharyl Hand and Lisa Caruso (John); and grandchildren, Kevin Hand (Kim), Brian Hand, Lauren Halaris (Ari), Julie Caruso, brother Robert (Joan) Reagan and sister Arlene Woodard.
A private service with family members was held on September 22nd. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dream Factory of Rochester, PO BOX 308 East Rochester, NY 14445, or Helping Hounds, 6606 Kinne Rd, Dewitt, NY 13214.
