Eugene Carl Schreiber

October 9, 1942 — October 31, 2020

Eugene "Gene" Carl Schreiber, 78, passed away on October 31, 2020. Gene was born in Warners, NY, and lived most of his life in and around Syracuse, NY, before retiring to Malone, NY and later Davie, FL before returning to Syracuse to spend his final months. Gene was extremely proud of his service to his country in the United States Navy, where he served as a cook during the Vietnam Era. He was a truck driver for many different companies and retired as a member of Teamsters union #317. Gene had a love for dogs and they loved him. Gene loved to be up and moving as much as possible. In Malone, he found his love of the outdoors. Whether riding his 4 wheeler or mowing the lawn, Gene always stayed busy, but in his brief moments of down time he loved Chuck Norris movies, Syracuse University basketball and spending time with those he cared about. Gene will be remembered as someone always willing to help in any way he could, who enjoyed a good laugh as much as possible, and who's dance moves couldn't be forgotten when seen. Gene will be loved and missed by many.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Shelley Trudell (Travis) of Cicero, his three grandchildren, Alexis, TJ, and Elizabeth. His partner of the last 32 years, June Zoller of Malone, NY and her children Anthony Perry, Thom Perry, Denise Rogers, and Rose Marshall. A Sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" Cornell Gerhardt (Jim) of Brewerton, NY and a brother Richard of Carthage,NY, Close friends Lillian Schilling and Nicole Ungleich, who were as close as family until the end, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.

Gene is predeceased by his dog and best friend, Max, his parents (Roy and Gertrude Schreiber), sister Marian (Jesse) Wallis, brothers Paul, Roy, Milton, Harold, John, and James, as well as his previous wives Roseann Schreiber and Joyce Schreiber.
