Eugene M. Van Dyne, 81, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away Monday at Loretto after a long illness. Born in Savannah, NY, he graduated from Savannah High School. He was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a retired Teamster's local 317, having been employed by Koppper's Company and Oswego Asphalt. He was last employed with the Town of Clay, Highway Deptartment. He is predeceased by his former wife, Audrey.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin, John (Amy), Ken (Denise) and Jesse Van Dyne; three grandchildren; brothers, Harold, James Howard and George Van Dyne; sister, Ruth Bramer; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, NY. Services will follow at 7PM at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be Friday, 1 PM at the Butler-Savannah Cemetery, South Butler, New York.
