Ernest "Ernie" Rivard, 69, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday at the Francis House after a brief illness. He was born on December 22, 1942 in Fall River, MA. On June 16, 1984 he was married to Barbara Lauzon in Syracuse. Ernie was a former member of the Lions Club, he was known as the "Yankee Clipper" and loved his family most of all.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara, 2 sons; Thomas (Natalie) Rivard, Christopher (Amy) Rivard, daughter, Tammy (Mike) Ruggeri, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse with services to follow.
Contributions may be made to the Francis House.
