Ernest was best known for being a family man and his craftsmanship. He went to join the love of his life, Lynette, on December 19, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Ernie was born on September 18, 1948 in Utica, NY to William and Clara Galle. He graduated in 1966 from The Boys Trade School in Utica and joined the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1965-1971. He proudly served on the USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Destroyer. Following his time in the reserves he worked at Indium Corporation for 34 years.
Lynette and Ernie were married on January 11, 1969 and excitedly welcomed three sons. As a family, they enjoyed Boys Scouts and sports; but some of Ernie’s favorite times were spent camping with the extended family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. By far, Ernie cherished his grandchildren the most, often showing them his train collection. Upon retirement Ernie took up pen making where he created many unique designs.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lynette; brothers, Frank and Peter; and sister Anne. He is survived by his sons, Brian (Lesley), Christopher (Cara) and Thomas (Jean); his grandchildren Alexandra, Carter, Connor, Logann, Nina and Michael; his brothers, John (Candy) and Bill (Nancy); sister-in-law, Janice DiNigro and Gerri LaManque; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
