Emma M. Tillinghast

Emma M. Tillinghast, 86, of Syracuse, passed away June 24, 2024. Emma was born in Nelson, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1937 to Howard and Ethel Barber.

Emma was a caring, generous, and giving person who had a strong faith in God. As her kids were growing she enjoyed going to church with them. She was outgoing and always helpful. She had a great sense of humor, liked to make people laugh and was a joy to be around. In her free time, she enjoyed singing, listening to music, and was a good cook. Emma was a loving person and especially loved her kids and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Lee Tillinghast Sr.; Father, Howard Barber; Mother, Ethel Barber; Brothers, Melvin and Ron Barber; Son, Daniel Tillinghast, Robert Tillinghast; and Daughter, Eris Tillinghast.

Emma is survived by her Sons, James Tillinghast Sr., Ronald Tillinghast, Duane Tillinghast, David Tillinghast, Lee Tillinghast Jr.; Daughters, Mary Ann (Eugene) Snyder, Debbie Tillinghast; 21 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren; and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Family and friends may call on Monday, July 1, 2024 from 4:00pm - 5:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, North Syracuse, where funeral services will follow at 5:00pm. Interment at Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
