Elva Greenleaf was born on July 27th,1953 and passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Mabel Hardy and Edward (Alice) Greenleaf. Elva resided in a group home in Syracuse where she was loved and cared for by a very dedicated staff. She had retired on Wednesday from her Day Hab program, which was something she enjoyed very much.
She is survived by her brother and guardian, Kenneth (Richard) Greenleaf of Liverpool, NY along with her other siblings, Betty Reed of Parish, NY, Rose Sixberry of North Carolina, Donna Ingersoll of Fulton, NY, Edward Greenleaf of Alabama, Scott (Rosie) Greenleaf of Liverpool, NY, Fred (Gina) Greenleaf of Kirkville, NY, Bobby Burnett of Oswego, NY, Howard (Burnetta) Bennett of Oswego, NY, Oliver Russell and Melvin Boyle of Baltimore, MD; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and her DDSO family.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals with a service to follow at 4pm. A private burial will take place at a later time where Elva will rest in peace next to her father in the Roosevelt Cemetery in Pennellville, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elva's memory to the Special Olympics of CNY.
