Elra A. Merrill, 75, of Syracuse passed away on Wednesday at Community General Hospital. She was born on November 14, 1937 in Rocky Mount, VA. She last worked at Niagara Mohawk until her retirement, she was a member of the Payton Temple Memorial Church in Syracuse,worked on the Mothers Board and participated in numerous activities at her church. Elra was active in her neighborhood watch. She loved to crochet, cook, traveling and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Althea (Chester) Hall, sons, Curtis Baldwin, Darryl Smalls, 4 grandchildren; Nicole Hall, Tyrin Williams, Sharelle Smalls, Natasha Baldwin, sister, Lillie Mae Myers, 3 brothers; Leonard, Kenny & Richard Martin.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 10am-11am at the Payton Temple Memorial Church, 1816 Midland Ave., Syracuse.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11am, from the church.
Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
