Elizabeth Schembri, 96, most recently of Massena, NY passed away on Saturday, September 22.

She was born in Walnut, MS on May 18th, 1922 to the late Hattie and John Proctor. Elizabeth was working in local hospitals in Memphis, TN when she met Samuel Schembri and they married in 1943. They settled in Oneida, NY where Elizabeth waitressed for many years. She loved bingo, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Samuel on March 23, 2004.

She is survived by seven children, John (Jean Moyle) Schembri of N. Syracuse, NY, Nancy "Susan" Blais of Massena, NY, Patricia Peacock of Syracuse, NY, Sharon McNally of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Linda Colvin of Syracuse, NY and twin daughters, Donna Retzbach of Central Square, NY and Dolly Brier of Phoenix, NY; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; brother, Carrol Proctor of Jasper, AL; and many nieces and nephews.

A chapel service will be held on Saturday at 10am at Onondaga Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Health Foundation ATTN: Cardiac Unit, 973 James Street Suite 250, Syracuse, NY 13203.
