On February 29, Elizabeth (Betty) Nordheim, 82, passed away peacefully at her Liverpool home with her two loving daughters at her side. Despite her long battle with progressive emphysema, Betty always maintained her feisty spirit and as much of her independence as was possible. Her lifetime accomplishments were many and varied, but it was clearly Betty's deep love and respect for animals that was the hallmark of her identity. The lives of literally countless animals were benefited by the boundless compassion she had for all living creatures. Betty's spirit will always be with us and she will be deeply missed.

Predeceased in 2005 by husband Irving Nordheim, Betty is survived by two daughters, Linda (Vince) Santoro of Liverpool, Diana Lynn (Mike Weller) of Baldwinsville, 3 grandchildren, Vince (Angela) & Paul Santoro of Syracuse, Kristine Santoro of Los Angeles, 1 great-grandchild, Vincent Jr. & several nieces and nephews.

At her request, private services were conducted on March 3, with burial following at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay.

Contributions may be made in Elizabeth's name to Hospice of CNY.
