Elizabeth "Liz" J. (Geroux) Semchenko, 53, of Brewerton, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer since 1989. Born in Utica, she graduated from Holland Patent High School. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as an insurance professional in the Syracuse area for 20 years and was an avid NY Yankees fan. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gerard F. Semchenko, two daughters; Tanya Lynn Semchenko of Hannibal and Alicia Nicole Semchenko of Liverpool, her grandson Alexander Gerard Semchenko, a brother; Andrew (MaryKay) Geroux of Ilion, a sister; Susan Geroux of Oriskany and Several Nieces, Nephews and Close friends. She loved her pets Lexus, Chetty & Freddy. Services will be held on Tuesday at 7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main Street. Contributions in Liz's memory may be made to the CNY SPCA, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a charity of choice.
