Elizabeth Hlad passed away peacefully on Wednesday with her devoted daughter Mary and few close relatives at her side at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse after a brief illness. Elizabeth was born on May 30, 1937 in Montague, NY daughter of Mary (Bosenchak) Hlad & Thomas Hlad.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Katherine, Syracuse, sister-in-law, Joan Hlad, Lowville, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by both parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and Frank Emmi, father of Mary Katherine. Liz graduated from Lowville Central School in 1954. She was employed for a short time in a clerical position with Judge Robert Lynch, 2 years for Carrier Corp., 6 years at Reynolds Brokerage, various time spans at Lamson Brokerage Syracuse Branch, Holy Trinity School as chief cook, Phoebee's Garden Café, Syracuse, as an assistant cashier and Sysco in Syracuse in purchasing and mail coordinator for over 20 years until retirement. Liz volunteered for the Heart Association and was active in many community activities. She was a former member at Holy Trinity Church, Syracuse.
Elizabeth enjoyed watching movies, reading, loved tracing the family history and spending time with family.
At the request of Elizabeth, there will be no funeral services. She will be laid to rest in West Lowville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
